
- May 08, 2012 USW Joins President Obama In Calling On Congress To Create Jobs The United Steelworkers (USW) said today that Congress needs to follow President Obama’s lead in creating jobs by acting on a “To Do List” that would help restore middle-class security. In a speech today in Upstate New York, the President emphasized that Congress now has the opportunity to create secure American jobs by manufacturing goods for the international economy.
- April 01, 2012 2012 District 1 Annual District 1 Bass Tournament The Annual District 1 Bass Tournament will be held at Salt Fork Lake at Salt Fork Marina on Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday, June 3rd, 2012. Registration will be held from 6:00 a.m. to approximately 7:00 a.m. at the launching area. The tournament will start following registration. Weigh-in will be held at 4:00 p.m. Food and soft drinks for the contestants will be provided following the weigh-in.
- March 26, 2012 District 1 Chili Cook-Off USW Local 207L, in Findlay, OH, hosted the first District 1 Chili Cook-off on March 10, 2012. Ten teams from across the state competed for the 2012 Grand Champion Trophy and custom decorated aprons. There was plenty of chili for all the supporters who came to taste and vote on the best chili in the Steelworkers ranks.
