Poll Workers Needed to SAVE GRACEDALE

The nurses at Northampton County’s Gracedale Nursing Home are proud members of United Steelworkers Local 2599.  For years, this group has provided top-notch care to thousands of our elderly and those most in need, even with the constant frustration of a difficult bargaining environment.  The county is now trying to get rid of this facility, and there is a substantial fear that this could mean either permanent closure or selling it off to a private company whose bottom line is making a profit rather than putting patients first.

We can’t afford to put this vital piece of our community in jeopardy.  That’s why Local 2599 and other labor and community allies have worked hard – with the Steelworkers in the lead – to secure 23,000 signatures to get this issue on the ballot on Tuesday.
