United Steelworkers Local 12075 and Dow Chemical (Michigan Operations-Midland) Finalize Negotiations with Tentative Agreement with Final Offers

At 9:30 PM this evening, United Steelworkers (USW) Local 12075 in Midland, MI was presented by the Dow Chemical Company a final package of tentative agreements with final offers. The existing contract expires on February 11, 2012.

Utilizing an interest based bargaining approach, tentative agreements were reached on much of the issues raised during the negotiations; however, there were two (2) issues that could not be resolved and the Company presented the Union with final proposals. As a result; the Union will be presenting the entire package to its members.

USW, Local 12075 will not release the details of the package until it can explain it in whole to its members. The current collective bargaining agreement has been extended until 8:00 AM, Saturday, February 18th.

Membership explanation meetings are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, February 14th and Wednesday, February 15th with a vote on the package on Thursday, February 16th and Friday, February 17th.

USW Local 12075 represents 1,000 hourly workers in the Michigan Operations-Midland Site of Dow Chemical Company.
