- May 17, 2012 Pinnacle Bankruptcy Bargaining Deadlines Extended, USW Advises Court of Problems with Pinnacle’s DIP Financing The United Steelworkers (USW) today said that through the successful work of Pinnacle Airlines’ Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors, Pinnacle and Delta Air Lines have agreed to extend to July 13 the bankrupt regional carrier’s deadline to renegotiate its union labor contracts. The USW is one of seven members of the committee.

Glyptis Testifies Before USITC on Japan Imports of Tin-Coated Steel USW Local 2911 President Mark Glyptis testified before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), supporting a continued duty order on tin-coated steel imports from Japan. Glyptis appeared on a witness panel that included testimony from the petitioner companies ArcelorMittal USA, U.S. Steel Corp. and USS-Posco Industries.
- March 23, 2012 USW Int’l VP Tom Conway Presents Testimony Before Congressional Steel Caucus on Steps to Boost Manufacturing Testimony was delivered by USW International Vice President Tom Conway to the Congressional Steel Caucus in Washington, D.C. joined by steel industry leaders to promote manufacturing steel production and jobs. Joining Conway at the hearing were representatives from U.S. Steel, Cliffs Natural Resources, Nucor, ArcelorMittal ZUSZA, Steel Dynamics, and TMK IPSCO. Steel Caucus Chair Tim Murphy (PA-18) and Vice Chair Pete Visclosky (IN-01) convened the hearing on the state of the steel industry.
