Chanting, "Enough Violence, Basta Con La Violencia," and holding picket signs, demonstrators in Los Angeles today sent a message to Occidental Petroleum about violence against unionists in Colombia.

Members of the United Steelworkers joined other activists in front of Occidental's headquarters, where activists collected signatures for a petition to Congress. They also delivered a letter to Dr. Ray R. Irani, chairman, president and CEO of Occidental Petroleum.

The protest was in support of a people's tribunal in Bogotá, Colombia that is hearing evidence of murders and death threats against union activists involving the company's alleged approval. Read more here. And check out the latest video coverage of the event:
