The economic recovery bill recently signed by President Obama offers help with health insurance for recently laid off people If you have lost your job between Sep. 1, 2008 and Dec. 31, 2009, you may be eligible. There also is a provision to cover people who lost their jobs after September who did not elect to take COBRA - you now have a 60-day window to apply for COBRA and the subsidy.
