On June 16, the Congressional Steel Caucus held hearings on the current situation facing steelworkers and steel production facilities to determine how Congress can best help stabilize the steel industry. The caucus includes more than 100 members of Congress with steelmaking facilities and steelworkers employed in their districts.

On June 16, the Congressional Steel Caucus held hearings on the current situation facing steelworkers and steel production facilities to determine how Congress can best help stabilize the steel industry.  The caucus includes more than 100 members of Congress with steelmaking facilities and steelworkers employed in their districts.

Steel company representatives, economists, trade lawyers and USW local leaders will be among those appearing before the committee.

The purpose of the hearing is: “To listen to the concerns of local constituents, steel industry experts, and steel industry officials regarding the current situation facing steelworkers and steel production facilities and how Congress can best help stabilize steel.”
