Over 80 paper workers from United Steelworker (USW) locals across the U.S. prepared for upcoming bargaining with training being conducted at Linden Hall, the United Steelworkers training center, from May 10-12.

In an opening dinner speech by USW International President Leo W. Gerard, he welcomed the participants and discussed the present job situation in the U.S. and the outlook for economic recovery.

“There is a great mix of big and small locals being represented at this event,” said USW International Vice President Jon Geenen who helped to coordinate the event. “We also have a good cross-section of the various types of paper workers being represented here.”

Leeann Anderson, Assistant to the President, talked about how important this training will be to the participants in upcoming and future bargaining campaigns.
