The United Steelworkers (USW) Public Sector Conference was held from May 16 through May 19, 2011 at the Wyndham Grand Hotel, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Over 100 USW public sector delegates attended the four day sessions chaired by USW International Vice President, Fred Redmond with a focus on “ACTION”. 

A wide spectrum of members from throughout the U.S. and Canada participated in numerous workshops with guest speakers, Naomi Walker, Director State Government Relations, AFL-CIO, Fiona Farmer and Frank Keogh, Unite the Union from the United Kingdom and Steve Schnapp, United for a Fair Economy.

Elva Martes who was in attendance from District 1, Local 6621, Lorain, Ohio asked that everyone going home, “Leave here not planning to plan but planning to ACT!”
