The United Steelworkers (USW) today announced that the union has reached an agreement with Anchor Glass Container on a contract, thereby ending an unfair labor practice strike by about 150 workers at nine U.S. Anchor locations after almost three weeks.
The USW said that the new contract includes a dollar wage increase split evenly between its first and second years and raises pensions through the Steelworkers Pension Trust.
The union said that employees will continue to share in a small portion of the cost of their health insurance with no increase in deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums or co-pays and limited increases in weekly contributions throughout the contract’s duration ... more
