The ongoing Wall Street occupation -a movement spreading across the United States - was the topic when progressive host and NY Times bestselling author Thom Hartmann recently interviewed United Steelworker (USW) President Leo W. Gerard.
Gerard stood up for the 99 percent of us who are left behind - those who have lost their jobs and homes, the students who can't afford to attend school and families living in their cars.
"This is not the America we should have,"
"We're going to have an organic grassroots movement, said Gerard, "this is the real grass movement, not the astroturf that the Tea Party was."
This is not funded by rich folks. These are ordinary folks who are saying, "enough, I'm not going to take it anymore."
"As President Kennedy used to say, 'A rising tide lifts all boats,'" said Gerard, "Right now the rising tide has lifted the yachts and sank the dinghies.
