Leslie Marshall, from the The Leslie Marshall Show, talks with United Steelworkers (USW) President Leo W. Gerard about Issue 2, the repeal of Senate Bill 5 in Ohio.
Gerard said that Senate Bill 5 took away collective bargaining rights for public sector workers. It wasn’t teachers who caused the collapse of the economy or the loss of 58,000 factor jobs in Ohio or the giving trillions of dollars in tax cuts to the already rich.
He went on to say that this is not only an opportunity to rescind this bill but “more importantly, it’s a chance for people in Ohio to have a voice in the actions of this governor.”
Marshall said that for a governor whose family were union members, it appears he cares more for his party than his family and the people in Ohio.
Gerard said that if the issue is soundly defeated, it could have huge ramifications for Governor Kasich and the Republican agenda in Ohio and across the country.
