In this episode, Leslie Marshall talks with Tom Conway, International Vice President for Administration for the United Steelworkers (USW). Conway talked about recent and past trade bills and the effect on workers and the nation.
They talked about America’s trade imbalance of imports and exports, how not all countries play by the rules and how money filters back to politicians who make the trade deals.
Marshall asked why people can’t see that these trade deals are killing manufacturing and jobs. Conway said, “America, regardless of their political affiliation, knows that this is wrong and we’re on the wrong path and if we don’t start manufacturing and making things, this is a bad direction for our nation.”
