A group of United Steelworkers (USW) in Pittsburgh carried out an information handout in support of Cooper tire workers who are locked out in Ohio on a cold and rainy December day in front of a Pep Boys Tire store.

Carrying signs that read “300 Million Reasons for Cooper to Bargain Fairly” and “Cooper Tire’s Greed Flat Out Wrong,” the group attracted a lot of attention in one of the busiest parts of the city, including many entering the Pep Boys Store.

Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. has locked out 1050 workers USW Local 207L from their jobs since Nov. 28, 2011, when the company refused the union's offer to remain on the job while negotiations proceeded.

Solidarity events are being planned across the U.S. to show support for the Cooper Tire workers and the Serbian union which represents workers at Cooper's recently purchased overseas facility in Nezavisnost has already demanded that the company end the lockout and pledged their support.
