This week, Carrier is wining and dining dealers, and sponsoring driver Tony Kanaan at the Indy 500. This is all happening while some 1,400 dedicated working people have been told they are losing their jobs making furnaces at Carrier’s Indianapolis plant.
This kind of pisses us off, and while eyes are on the big race, we’d like to take to Twitter to let the world know about Carrier’s plans to ditch our brothers and sisters and move their work to Mexico.
Will you join us TODAY, from noon until 1 p.m. Eastern? Follow @Steelworkers (link: http://www.twitter.com/steelworkers) and retweet us, or send out your own using the #FightForAmericanJobs hashtag and shouting out @CarrierGreen, @TonyKanaan, @UTC or #Carrier.
Please ask your fellow Tweeters to help us send a message TODAY, from noon to 1 p.m. Eastern. Here are some sample Tweets you can copy and paste:
* Good luck at #Indy500 .@TonyKanaan; tell @CarrierGreen, @UTC to keep making furnaces in Indy! usw.to/carrier #FightForAmericanJobs
* Hey .@TonyKanaan millions support you, #Indy500. Can you support them: tell @CarrierGreen, @UTC to keep jobs in Indy? #FightForAmericanJobs
* .@TonyKanaan fans: did you know sponsor #Carrier, @UTC moving Indy jobs to Mexico? Say no: usw.to/carrier. #FightForAmericanJobs
Thank you for helping us fight back.
