Over 50 participants from 22 locals came together for a 3-day open organizing training event at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in Las Vegas. The training was designed to assist local unions in Right-to-Work states and for those locals with open shop language.
During the training, the members noticed the Embassy Suites where they were staying was hosting a Toys-for-Tots drive for the holidays. This union group raised enough money to purchase over 45 toys to donate.
“Union members are community-minded any time of year,” said District 12 Director Bob LaVenture, “but during the holiday season, their generosity kicks up a notch.”
