Steelworkers joined with brothers and sisters of labor from across Pennsylvania to pack the rotunda, the balconies and stairs at the state capital to fight proposed conservative and business paycheck legislation which could weaken union rights.
Republican-backed legislation to weaken union rights in other states is seen as an “attack on workers’ rights” led by out-of-state billionaires and conservative groups that do not disclose their donors.
This has spurred unions to aggressively lobby rank-and-file Republicans and to assail the legislation.
