China and other countries have been flooding the global market with its excess steel for decades, undermining U.S. industries. Our union has been fighting back on several fronts. This includes filing petitions to clamp back on dumping and illegal subsidies, as well as working to maintain Section 232 trade remedies that help protect our national security.

In the tire industry, companies are closing plants, consolidating operations and scaling down production in the face of a flood of unfairly traded imports. Since joining the World Trade Organization, the Chinese government has consistently subsidized and dumped foreign-made tires in the U.S., often by funneling goods through Southeast Asia to bypass U.S. duties.
