United Steelworkers (USW) District 8 includes the states of Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
The newly unionized workers at the 132-bed acute care facility in Logan, W. Va., include registered nurses, nursing assistants, patient care technicians, phlebotomists, pharmacy technicians, patient transporters, unit secretaries, and others.
Reagan Benge has worked at Jackson Warewashing Systems in Gray, Kent., for three years and has been wanting to get more involved with Local 14300. She knew the District 8 Women of Steel Conference this past August was a great way to do just that.
