We are pleased to announce the convening of the Basic Steel Industry Conference. The conference is made up of all local unions representing workers employed in the basic steel industry. The meeting is scheduled for March 24, 2026, at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The BSIC meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. and should conclude by 5:00 p.m.  The conference will focus on our upcoming bargaining in 2026 with the major steel and iron ore producers. There will be a reception for all participants at 6:00 p.m. upon the conclusion of the meeting on the 24th at the Omni William Penn Hotel.

Conference Registration

To assist in our planning, we ask that you register for the conference in advance (preferably no later than February 15) in one of the two following ways:

Please note: This call is being extended to Local Union Presidents and Grievance Chairs, but as always, travel expenses and lost time are the responsibility of your Local Union.

A block of rooms for this meeting has been reserved for check-in on Wednesday, March 23, 2026, at the rate of $159.00 per night, plus tax at Omni William Penn Hotel, 530 William Penn Place, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15219.

Airline Arrangements

In cooperation with Direct Travel, we have made special arrangements for delegates to book air transportation to the conference. Please call between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday, or you will incur an after-hours fee of $16.00.  Lowest airfares typically require at least 14 days’ advance purchase.
