Eko works at ECCO Indonesia in Sidoarjo, East Java, which is a shoe company headquartered in Denmark. He is the Serikat Pekerja National Union (SPN) Chairperson of his plant which has 7,000 members. He is also responsible for the SPN Indonesian nickel sector at IMIP Morowali, Central Sulawesi, and IWIP Wedabay in North Maluku. Finally, he holds a position on the Steering Committee for IndustriALL Global Union.
