Protext: Texting for U.S. Locals

Text messaging is an effective and popular way to get connected to members at every level of our union. Through the USW's New Media Department, USW locals in the United States can request an account for their local.

• This tool does have a reasonable cost to the local for the operation of the system.
• Accounts are available one-per-local.
• The member managing the account must complete two (2) hours of basic training.
• The USW's New Media department will support setting up your account, including one keyword per unit. 
•  site, basic trouble-shooting, and help with obtaining custom URLs
• The USW's New Media and IT departments will provide basic trouble-shooting support.
• The member managing the account is subscribed to an email list of system updates, training opportunities, content ideas and more.
