2017 District 9 One Day Health and Safety Training Seminars

Greetings Sisters and Brothers:

Addressing the workplace safety and health concerns of our membership is vital to the success of the USW and District 9. The USW Health, Safety and Environment, through the Tony Mazzocchi Center (TMC), provides a variety of health and safety training opportunities for our members. Many of which can be provided to a local union (or employer) at no charge or a very competitive cost. 

Last year TMC provided training to some 20,000 workers and managers. In September 2016, the USW hosted an International Health, Safety and Environment Conference, which occurs every 18-months, with more than 1,700 participants gaining additional tools and resources to promote and encourage health and safety in the workplace.  

USW District 9 strives to be in the forefront of activism and mobilization in all areas of this great Union and we are proud to host a series of regional, one-day health and safety training sessions for our Local Unions. The sessions will be led by trained members from District 9 Local Unions. All sessions start promptly at 8:30 a.m. local time for the scheduled dates and locations listed below. The agenda for each training session will be:
