Health and Safety Concerns Forced Workers into a Work Stoppage

USW Local 12-591 President Steve Garey this week participated in Dissent Magazine’s “Belabored” podcast, discussing the critical health and safety concerns that forced workers at eleven USW oil facilities into a work stoppage.

Garey, who represents oil workers in the Western U.S. on the rank-and-file Policy Committee, works at the Tessoro refinery in Anacortes, Wash., one of the facilities that is currently on strike.
