United Steelworkers District 9 Director Daniel Flippo, was awarded the Alabama Organized Labor Awards Foundation's 2014 Labor Person of the Year at a banquet held recently in Birmingham, Alabama. Daniel was nominated and unanimously chosen for this award because of his tireless efforts on behalf of the United Steelworkers and all of Alabama’s labor force, in addition to countless hours of labor and sacrifice for thousands of workers and their families throughout the labor movement.
Introducing Daniel to receive this special and well deserved award was Greg England, retired District 9 Rapid Response Coordinator.
