Training for Activists and Leaders in District 8

On October 21, United Steelworkers District 8 conducted a training program on Local Officers and Elections at Local 40 in Huntington, WV.  USW Director of Local Union Services Bob Rootes from the International Headquarters instructed the 58 union members.  The training also included a presentation by Staff Rep. Ronnie Watson, information on Women of Steel from Staff Rep. Karen Shipley and benefits of participating in the Welfare and Education Program by Local President 644L Joe Harris and a Welfare/Education Trustee. They also stressed the importance of voluntary PAC contributions which can be done through payroll deduction, if you have language within your CBA, or it can be set up by Local Union Officers.
