USW District 2 Members Taking Action for Rapid Response Postcard Campaign

Members of Local 14540 joined the fight to protect health care workers by taking action around the union’s “Safe Jobs Now” campaign earlier this month. While they all work for the road commission in Mio, Mich., many of them have family members and friends who work in the health care field, which inspired them to sign the postcards that will be delivered to members of Congress in October.

The “Safe Jobs Now” campaign is in support of the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act (H.R. 1309/S. 851), which would direct the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to ensure health care employers develop and implement violence prevention plans.
