Negotiating Committee Continues to Work for a Fair Contract

Negotiations with ArcelorMittal management continued this week in Pittsburgh as our committee met both internally and with the company. We continued to discuss local issues.

Some locals report more progress than others, and we expect these discussions to resume next week.

Next Monday, the committee should receive a comprehensive contract proposal from ArcelorMittal management.

From the company’s previous presentations and its forecast for the industry, we know that there will be many challenges that we will be faced with.

Our bargaining committee and various subcommittees are prepared to engage management over many important issues in the days and weeks ahead, and we are counting on the continued support of our membership throughout this struggle for a fair contract.

Our unity and solidarity have been tested in the past, and we have prevailed. These negotiations should be no different.

As the process continues, we will share reliable information and do our best to keep our members informed as always.
