President Barack Obama was greeted by United Steelworkers International President Leo Gerard, U.S. Steel President & CEO Mario Longhi and Anthony Bridge, the firm’s vice president of engineering, research and development today when he visited the U.S. Steel Irvin plant in West Mifflin plant. Joining the President was U.S. Senator Bob Casey, U.S. Representative Mike Doyle, D-Forest Hills and Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto.
After touching on some of last night’s State of Union Address highlights, the President wearing a white hard hat, was given a plant tour conducted by President of USW Local 2227 Kevin McKelvey and plant manager Amy Smith-Yoder.
