Rapid Response Action Call: Protect Our Voice! Oppose Unprecedented Mid-Decade Redistricting in Indiana

Last Friday, we alerted you about Governor Mike Braun’s special legislative session to push for unprecedented mid-decade redistricting, an action that undermines the democratic process.

This has never happened before.

The Administration is pushing to redraw voting districts again, despite maps already being updated after the 2020 Census. This isn’t standard procedure; it’s a move that puts political interests ahead of fair representation and risks weakening the voice of working people across Indiana.

We cannot allow this attack on democracy.

Why It Matters to Us

  • Allows legislators to choose their voters, not the other way around.
  • Diminishes the voices of workers, voters, and communities.
  • Undermines fair elections.
  • Makes it harder to elect leaders who stand with unions and working families.

The Real Cost

  • Redistricting again wastes taxpayer dollars.
  • This plan threatens a fair, state-controlled process.
  • Takes focus away from urgent issues like healthcare, jobs, and education.

This redistricting scheme is a threat to democracy, fairness, and accountability.
