Tennessee Women of Steel Dedicated to the Community

Upper East Tennessee Women of Steel (WOS) recently held a Regional Meeting at USW LU 9-0677 in Erwin, TN.  District 9 Safety & Health Coordinator Calvin Bozeman presented an overview of the Steelworkers Safety and Health Conference in wos-tn2Pittsburgh and discussed ways of improving safety in the workplace.

As part of the Upper East Tennessee WOS Good Works Projects, they donated educational supplies to D.E.S.K., an organization who provides basic educational supplies to school children in need within Unicoi, Washington and Greene counties of Tennessee. Additionally, LU 7894 Women of Steel offered assistance to one of their own members in need of assistance when their baby was born prematurely earlier this year. The Local’s WOS Committee collected funds that provided much needed financial assistance to a fellow Steelworker.

District 9 Director Daniel Flippo congratulates LU 9-0677 as first time hosts and Locals 7894, 7739, 507G and 1411 for their continued dedication to our members and support of their communities.
