USW Cares: Local 1688 Living United to Help People in their Community

Submitted by Karen Smith

On November 8, in Elizabethville, PA United Steelworkers’ Local 1688 members, family and friends volunteer to sort food to help the Upper Dauphin Human Service Center’s Food Pantry. Giving back is how they “LIVE UNITED.”

The program was part of a nationwide “scouting for food drive” sponsored by Boy Scouts. Helping to coordinate this sort was Jeff Lebo and Jeff Yeingst.

This project is just one of so many USW’s amazing members do every day to give back to our communities. If you or your local are doing good things in your community, we want to hear about them. Let us know and share video and photos at www.usw.org/uswcares and use the #USWCares hashtag when you post your stories on social media. Don’t forget to shout out @Steelworkers!
