USW Local 3937 in Arizona Rally for a Fair Contract

United Steelworker members from Local Union 3937 in Phoenix, AZ, recently held an information rally to bring public attention to their effort to get a fair contract with Schuff Steel. The members have been in negotiations with the company since their collective bargaining agreement ended on March 31.

The members are remaining faithful by still working under the terms of the previous agreement but it appears the company is not willing to bargain in good faith.

Company proposals range from gutting standard grievance procedures to eliminating joint union/company safety committees and bulletin boards. They are pushing to gut the seniority system and make drastic changes to the member‘s health care by allowing higher costs.
