Don’t believe Merit’s lies!

Merit will say anything to not take responsibility for paying you what you deserve. Last year, Merit claimed they couldn’t permanently hire temp workers because of the union, when we called them out, they immediately hired the temp workers! Why does Merit think they can get away with this again?

Merit is falsely claiming that they can not give annual raises because of the union. THIS IS NOT TRUE! Your Bargaining Committee wants to ensure that Merit doesn’t randomly give raises to one employee, but not the other for unfair reasons. You all have put in the work, and everyone deserves the same wage increases! 

The company is also claiming that they cannot pay workers who are promoted to higher paid positions the higher wage rate! Your committee is working, at the bargaining table, on a fair process to ensure members are promoted equally and not because of favoritism. The company took that as ammunition to make false claims that because of the union, newly promoted employees are unable to receive the higher pay from the promoted rate. That is not true! Your Union always welcomes proposals for increased pay for workers. Any worker who is promoted to a higher paying position should be receiving that pay immediately!
