District 10 Director Encourages Support for Locked Out Members from Local 6996

District 10 Director Bobby “Mac” McAuliffe visited the locked out members on the Local 6996 picket line on February 3. They have been locked out from Hoffman Industries for 4 years. It is remarkable, but no surprise, after four long years, how our members continue to man the picket line and support the union. While on the picket line, scabs freely travel in and out of the plant gate, while cars and trucks honk their horns or give a thumbs up to our locked out members.

local 6996The members expressed their thanks and appreciation for the continued support they have received from other locals in the district. The picket line is a short distance from the Reading Exit on the PA Turnpike. The company has reduced the days of work for the scabs to four (4) days a week. Each of these days, our locked out members are at the picket line, arriving between the hours of 5:00 am. – 5: 30 a.m. and staying until the last scab leaves the plant.

Director McAuliffe encourages everyone, if you have the opportunity to stop by the picket line and lift our locked out members spirits, please do so. Each day, Monday – Thursday, our locked out members are at: 3145 Shillington Road, Sinking Spring, PA 19608.
