The Homer Wilson Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the 2016 scholarship winner – Mahalie Hammett from Gaylesville, Alabama.
Lauren Mahalie Hammett graduated from Gaylesville High School in Gaylesville, Alabama in 2016. While in high school Lauren participated in Beta Club, FFA and FCCLA for four years. During her junior year she was a member of Youth Leadership Cherokee. During her senior year Lauren was active in basketball, volleyball, cheer and softball and earned team captain of every sport she participated in all the while working a part time job at a local restaurant.
Lauren will be attending Georgia Highlands in Rome, Georgia this fall to obtain her career in Dental Hygiene.
