With an average of at least a dozen people killed on the job every day, Americans have been gathering the past few days to remember those whose lives were lost at work and to commit themselves to more vigilance toward workplace safety.
On Saturday, more than 75 people came together at the United Steelworkers, Local 105, union hall in Bettendorf to observe Workers Memorial Day, an event sponsored by the Alcoa Davenport Works joint safety and health committee.
