Join us Thursday, March 19 at 11 a.m. in Chicago to support USW members forced to begin an Unfair Labor Practice strikes against the oil industry.
Some 7,000 members from 15 sites across the country are standing up for safe work places and communities as the industry has refused to bargain in good faith on these important safety issues. In the past five years, 27 workers have been killed and hundreds more seriously injured. Members from USW Local 7-1 in Whiting, Indiana’s BP refinery are among those on strike.
It is past time for BP and other oil companies to address these concerns. The rally will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 19th. Union members and supporters will gather outside of BP’s corporate offices at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange to demand safe workplaces and fair contracts for thousands of Oil Workers.
