Local 338 Annual Backpack Drive to Help Kids Succeed

pic3-338Women of Steel at United Steelworkers Local Union 338 in Spokane Valley, WA., once again conducted their annual backpack drive.  This year with their Help Kids Succeed campaign, they were able to deliver backpacks to three different school districts to help parents, teachers and kids get a good start to the school year. The Women of Steel group at loacal 338 truly enjoy this drive and look forward to doing each year.

Without members and local unions doing these events such as what has been demonstrated by LU 338, these kids would have a tough start to the school year, and rough start in the education process, said District 12 Director Bob LaVenture. In helping the community, we help ourselves. I’m proud of all of them, their great work and Solidarity Rocks.

Women of Steel Kim Fischer and Sheila Daugherty thank all Local 338 members for another year of giving back in our community.
