Pueblo County Opposes Trade Agreement

Pueblo County Commissioner Liane “Buffie” McFadyen, on the steps of the county courthouse Monday, said sternly that the sovereignty of Pueblo and the United States is in danger because of a proposed national trade agreement between 12 nations.

“Moving your own goods is important, but the other piece in ensuring that you are a sovereign nation is being able to grow your own food and feed your own country and this act, this TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) act, threatens that very way of life in this country,” McFadyen said.

Members of the United Steelworkers union joined McFadyen and fellow Commissioners Terry Hart and Sal Pace Monday as they signed a resolution in opposition of TPP, a trade agreement that is before Congress … more
