USW Local 1155L and Bridgestone Build Community Spirit

Giving back to your communities builds lasting relationships and deepens bonds within our memberships. For the sixth year in a row United Steelworkers Local 1155L in Morrison Tenn., in conjunction with Bridgestone Americas Tire, Warren County Plant have put their cumulative skills and knowledge to use partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Middle Tennessee building homes in McMinnville, Tenn.

Local 1155L members and Bridgestone management built the first home in 2008. 2011 marked a record build milestone when Steelworkers completed the home in 11 days. This year the construction project, which began July 12th, is outpacing the 2011 record. Steelworkers, company management and community volunteers make it happen.
