USW Local 9402 Continues a Tradition

Submitted by District Rapid Response Coordinator Andy Frye

Once again, United Steelworkers Local 9402 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma built their float for their December 3rd Christmas parade. They took first place with their float in use of theme.

‘It is a privilege to represent such members that not only represent their local membership,” said USW District 13 Director Ruben Garza, “but they give back to the community in every way that they can.”

This year’s entry was especially significant because Larry Hall, the longtime Local President, passed away unexpectedly this past February. Larry was always about giving to the community and the local is continuing that tradition.

In the picture are the members that volunteered their time to build the float: Back row: James Mayfeild, David Tedlock, Mark Evans, Gary Witt and Front row: Ashley Aguilera, Debbie Hall,(Larrys wife), Rudy Neito.
