(Pittsburgh) – The United Steelworkers (USW) announced this afternoon that it has reached a four-year tentative agreement with Allegheny Technologies Incorporated (ATI) Allegheny Ludlum and ATI’s Albany, Ore. titanium operations.

The proposed agreement covers some 3,000 workers. If ratified, the new agreement will expire on June 30, 2015. No details of the tentative contract will be available until the union’s bargaining committee representatives return to their locals to conduct information meetings with its membership.

The existing contracts have been extended through August 1, 2011 to allow adequate time for the union members to review and vote on the proposed agreement.

The USW is the largest industrial union in North America, with 850,000 members in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. It represents workers employed in metals, rubber, chemicals, oil refining, paper and the service sectors.
