USW Members Reject Contract with BF Goodrich

PITTSBURGH (August 12) – United Steelworkers (USW) members have voted to reject a proposed three-year contract for 2,400 workers at two BF Goodrich facilities in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Fort Wayne, Ind.
Negotiations will resume on August 14th in Knoxville, Tenn., in an effort to reach agreement.
The USW represents 850,000 members in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. It is the largest private-sector union in North America, representing workers in a range of industries including metals, mining, rubber, paper and forestry, oil refining, health care, security, hotels, and municipal governments and agencies.
