The 2025 District 12 Education Conference will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort Hotel & Casino in Reno, Nevada. Please plan on checking into the hotel on Monday December 1, 2025 with hotel check out on Friday December 5, 2025. We will be offering training sessions for members to sign up for, each class taking the entire three-day session. The sessions are as follows:

• Next Generation – Aimed at USW members age 35 and under. Learn how our union works, why engaging the next generation of workers is more important than ever, and why educated workers are powerful workers. (50 max)
• Women of Steel – Designed to further the work of ensuring our union meets the needs of women, provides for non-judgmental, open exchange of ideas and identification of hurdles, and helps attendees establish or improving their Local Women’s Committee. (50 max)
• Advanced Grievance Handling – For those experienced in basic grievance handling, and desire to learn how USW professional staff analyze merit and present in arbitration. (35 max)
• Building a Stronger Union – For local union officers and members, interested in Building a stronger local Union through internal/external organizing, and engaging membership to build solidarity and reviewing the duties of Local Union Officers. However, this class is not a substitute for financial officer training. Participants in this class should bring an up to date seniority list for their Bargaining unit. (50 max)

The District 12 Education Fund will reimburse your local union for hotel room and resort fees on a **double occupancy basis and with hotel room receipts submitted within 30 days. Please also note that the District will only reimburse for hotel rooms that are booked through the Group Name and or online booking Passkey provided below (other booking site reservations will not be reimbursed, and are strongly discouraged. We must fill a minimum number of rooms as a matter of hotel contract):

All other expenses, including transportation, per diem, and lost time are the responsibility of your Local Union.

Registration is on a first-come basis.

**The double occupancy requirement for hotel room reimbursement will be waived should an attendee express a good faith objection to such arrangement. If applicable, please note such on the local’s request to the District for reimbursement.

Please remember that the room block and classes may fill quickly – so please reserve ASAP! Cut off is Friday, October 31st, or when the block is sold out.

Room rate: $64.00/night Monday through Thursday Nights. A daily resort fee of $20.00 per room per night and room taxes.
