Our unions’ Unified Bargaining Committee met with Asarco’s representatives on November 14, 15 and 16, in Mesa, Ariz. The parties continued work on negotiating a successor labor agreement.
The committee accomplished important progress on the drug and alcohol policy, the attendance policy, flexibility provisions and fatigue management—and brought the company to agree to meaningful movement on FMLA, uniformed services and language regarding staffing of new facilities.
Achieving wage and retirement increases is more critical now than ever. Asarco must be held to remedy a decade-and-a-half of our members’ standard of living being eroded by inflation.
The unions’ wage and retirement demands are completely reasonable and appropriate.
Let Asarco know that it’s time to address the INJUSTICE.
This begins what will surely be a difficult and complex phase of our negotiations with Asarco; we are seeking significant wage and retirement increases.
