O-I Bargaining Update: March 25, 2019
With our contract expiration approaching on March 31, O-I continues to propose costly concessions, including:
- Wages – minimal increases
- Major attacks on future union members with a permanent 2 tier
- Healthcare – increases in premiums, deductibles, co-pays and out-of-pocket max
- Retirement –freeze the defined benefit pension, minimal company contributions regardless of plan
- Mandatory work on 8 holidays
- Up to 30 hours per year mandatory OT for training
- Failure to address our health and safety issues such as ventilation, respirators, bump caps and eyeglasses
- Run FMLA concurrent with vacation time
We need to show O-I that we support our bargaining committee as they fight back against these unnecessary concessions.
Thursday is SOLIDARITY Day!
It’s important for everyone to participate in order to show management these concessions are unacceptable. Look for more information from your local union leaders.
