Your Bargaining Committee continues to meet with the Hospital. The company is trying to pressure us to rush to a tentative agreement. We will not be pressured into accepting proposals that stops, limits, or prohibits YOUR rights. The company is not only attempting to diminish our rights as Union Sisters and Brothers, but also as hard-working people.

One important issue at the table that your committee is fighting against is Memorial Care is trying to make it harder for you to hold them accountable for violating your rights, minimize the damages you can receive, and stop you from having your day in court! This is UNACCEPTABLE and we are working on solutions that are agreeable to both parties.

At bargaining kick-off, we had 41 non-economic proposals; now we have 30. The company responds to our proposals with one bulk modification of our current contract and does not number their proposals. Our proposals are focused on

  • Preventing technology advancement from reducing your hours or the number of employees,
  • Clearly defined staffing levels, and
  • Your right to union representation

Your bargaining Committee continues to strategize prior to our next bargaining sessions on June 27th, 28th. Connect with your CAT member wearing lime green to get your new USW Badge Reel. Wear it starting June 24 and share your pictures on our Instagram page to show LBMMC that WE ARE UNITED FOR A FAIR CONTRACT! We will work diligently to ensure we are doing our part in moving negotiations further.
