Results of Local 1114 Bargaining Survey

Dear Union Brothers and Sisters,

The time to negotiate our contract with Komatsu is fast approaching, and bargaining will begin August 27! Thank you to everyone who filled out their Bargaining Surveys – we had over 200 members participate between both plants. Here are the results:

Membership Top Bargaining Priorities (In Order of Importance):

1) Wages

2) Vacation

3) Health Insurance

4) Retirement Benefits

Many surveys contained additional concerns about:

Fairness of Wages
How many days’ notice to call in Vacation
Insurance Premiums and Out of Pocket costs
Subcontracting of Work
401k Matching

Finally, we asked members to rate these issues 1 to 10, with 10 being the best:

Plant Morale - 3.9 out of 10
Direction of Company - 4.15 out of 10
Performance of Top Management - 3.625 out of 10

We are making every effort to address these concerns and others during bargaining. Only your involvement to support the Bargaining Committee and show solidarity with each other will make it possible for us to achieve these goals!
