Earlier this week we submitted our initial Information Request to GP in connection with the upcoming mill master agreement bargaining. This initial request is focused on key issues including items raised during our Council meeting in Atlanta and includes requests related to wages, pension, healthcare and the standard decompressed wage schedule, among other items. We will be following up with additional requests for information focused on overtime and the ability to attract and retain new employees.
Additionally, we had heard that local management had been approaching Local Union leaders at a number of mills about P-Pay. USW Paper Sector leadership has asked GP to remind local managers that two mills are currently running pilot programs and that no further P-Pay discussions should take place until we have had an opportunity to evaluate results of those programs. This will be discussed further at our April meeting.
